Maya Demchak-Gottlieb has a diverse work experience in journalism and writing. Maya currently serves as the Editor-in-Chief at The Ticker, where they previously held roles as a News Editor, Copy Editor, Alumni Columnist, and Senior Staff Writer. Maya also has experience at the Society of Professional Journalists, where they were the President of Baruch College's chapter and a Founding Board Member. Maya has worked at Baruch College as a College Assistant and an Admissions Representative. Additionally, Maya has been involved with TEDxCUNY as the Director of Speakers and Programming and as a Speakers and Programming Curator. Maya has contributed to The Macaulay Messenger as a Nation & World Reporter and worked on the Macaulay Scribe Creative Writing Magazine as a Writer. Maya Demchak-Gottlieb completed their high school education at Benjamin N Cardozo High School, where they received an Honors High School Diploma from 2017 to 2021. Currently, from 2021 to 2025, they are pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree at Baruch College. Maya'smajor is English Literature with a concentration in Journalism/Creative Writing. Additionally, Maya is undertaking minors in Law & Business and NYC Studies. Maya is also a student at Macaulay Honors College at The City University of New York, although their degree name and field of study were not specified.
