Bethany Young has a diverse work experience in photography, journalism, marketing, and event planning. Bethany started their career in 2007 as a Sales Associate at Gap Inc./Gap, where they assisted customers and helped drive sales. In 2008, they worked as an Event Planning & Marketing Intern at the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, managing event planning and creating relationships with donors.
In 2009, Bethany began their career in photography, starting with Bethany Young Photography, where they sold their photographs at major corporations and specialized in travel, landscape, street, editorial, commercial, and portrait photography. Bethany also showcased their artwork on Society6, an online platform for artists, where their photography was featured in advertising campaigns.
From 2011 to 2015, Bethany served as the Editor in Chief of Twenty Something Magazine, an online arts and culture publication. Bethany managed the magazine's publication processes, directed the conceptual direction for each issue, scheduled and executed photo shoots, conducted interviews, wrote editorials, oversaw contributing writers, and handled copyediting and magazine design.
In 2015, Bethany also took on the role of Production Editor for Brides of Austin, Brides of North Texas, and Brides of Oklahoma.
From 2017 to 2019, they worked as the Photography Creative Coordinator at Hobby Lobby, where they provided creative oversight for project sheets, collaborated with clients and cross-functional teams, and conducted market research. Bethany also joined Happily in 2019 as a Date Creator + Photographer, conceptualizing and developing date nights to strengthen couples and handling product conceptualization, development, and photography for their online store.
Throughout their career, Bethany has demonstrated strong skills in photography, conceptualization, marketing, event planning, and journalism. Bethany is proficient in Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and Lightroom and has a proven track record of success in their various roles.
Bethany Young attended the International Center of Photography in 2012, although no degree or field of study is specified. Prior to that, they attended the University of Oklahoma from 2006 to 2009, earning a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Advertising.
