Haris Papageorgiou

Haris Papageorgiou has a diverse work experience spanning multiple roles and industries.

Haris started their career in 2006 as a Co-Founder of Qualia.ai, an online media monitoring studio focused on AI in Business Intelligence. At Qualia, Haris was responsible for developing state-of-the-art intelligent software machines for recording, processing, retrieving, storing, and streaming multimedia data. Haris served as a Co-Founder until May 2022.

In 2009, Haris joined the Institute for Language and Speech Processing as a Principal Researcher. Haris played a significant role in conducting research in the field and held this position until November 2016.

In 2014, Haris co-founded Socital, a company specializing in providing onsite campaigns for ecommerce. As a Co-Founder, they contributed to its establishment and growth.

Haris also served as a Course Instructor at Athens University of Economics and Business, offering their expertise in an educational setting. Additionally, in 2019, they took on the role of Course Director and Instructor at the National Kapodistrian University of Athens.

Haris Papageorgiou has an extensive education history in the fields of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering & Computer Science. Haris obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Computer Science from the National Technical University of Athens, where they studied from 1992 to 1996. Prior to that, from 1985 to 1992, Haris completed their undergraduate education at the same institution, focusing on Electrical Engineering & Computer Science.

Additionally, Haris Papageorgiou holds various certifications in different areas. In 2017, they obtained the Linux Essentials Certification from Linux Academy. In 2016, Haris completed a course on Customer Analytics offered by Coursera. Furthermore, they obtained certifications in Exploratory Data Analysis and Reproducible Research from Coursera in 2014.
