Sara Calzada

Sara Calzada has a diverse range of work experience in the field of art and design. Sara is currently working as an Art Director at Behaviour - UK North, where they lead a team of artists to develop and maintain a consistent art direction across various titles. In 2020, Sara founded their own indie games company called Bocata Games and successfully pitched a game called "Puerto Viejo" to the UK Games Fund, securing funding for its development and release. The game received recognition from the London Games Festival 2021 and Ludonarracon. Sara also worked as a Freelance Storyboard Artist, a 2D Artist at TreesPlease Games, and as a Designer and Concept Artist at Netflix. Sara contributed to the development of the animated series "Kitti Katz" by designing props and environments. Before that, they worked as an Art Director for Mrs Wordsmith's educational game "Epic Word Adventure," managing the artistic direction and development of the project. Additionally, Sara has worked in freelance roles as a 3D Artist at Nucco Brain and as a 2D/3D Artist at PRELOADED, where they were a lead artist for various projects, including "Happy studio: The Lego Movie 2," "Peter Rabbit," and "Roald Dahl." Sara has also provided 2D art for pitches and web content.

Sara Calzada's education history begins in 2002, where they attended Universidad del País Vasco/Euskal Herriko Unibertsitatea. Sara pursued a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with a focus on Media, specifically in the field of Audiovisual. Sara completed their undergraduate studies in 2008.

In 2011, Sara attended CG Society to study Compositing, specializing in Nuke 2D. Their studies in this field lasted from 2011 to 2012, indicating a one-year program.

Between 2014 and 2015, Sara furthered their education in digital arts through attending workshops. Sara participated in workshops at both Imaginism Studios - Schoolism Live, focusing on Visual Storytelling with Kris Pearn, and Gesture Drawing with Louis Gonzales.

Additionally, in 2008, they pursued a Master's degree at Universidad de Salamanca in the field of Digital Animation. Their studies in this program lasted from 2008 to 2009.
