Manager - Platform Engineering at Socotra

Brandon Y. has a diverse and extensive work experience. Brandon began their career at Raytheon in 2009, where they worked as a Software Engineer. During their time there, they developed a new data ingestion system using Enterprise Java and Solr, and also contributed to the development of an internal Java EE project management tool.

In 2012, Brandon joined Blackbird Publishing as a Publisher. Brandon wrote, published, and marketed romance novels, achieving global success with 1+ million copies sold and three USA Today Bestsellers. Brandon also developed an internal metrics tool to gather data from self-publishing platforms, social media profiles, and email lists.

In 2018, Brandon took on the role of Teaching Fellow at Fullstack Academy of Code, where they contributed to teaching and guiding students.

Most recently, Brandon has been working at Socotra since 2019. Brandon started as a Senior Software Engineer - Frontend, then moved up to the position of Senior Software Engineer - Platform. Brandon briefly transitioned to the role of Staff Software Engineer - Platform in early 2021 before assuming their current position as Manager - Platform Engineering.
