Charlie Koechlin

Head Of Neutron Based Raw Material Analysis Equipment at Sodern

Charlie Koechlin has extensive work experience in various roles and industries.

From 2007 to 2008, Charlie completed an internship at NTT (Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation) in Japan, where they focused on optimizing the sensitivity of single electron devices.

In 2008, they interned at the Institut Curie, a cancer research center in Paris, where they worked on developing a microchip for cell sorting.

From 2009 to 2012, Charlie was a PhD student at ONERA and LPN-CNRS, conducting research on improving low-cost uncooled infrared detectors using carbon nanotubes and plasmonics effects.

During this time, they designed, fabricated, and characterized their own sensors.

In 2009, Charlie also co-founded and served as the Secretary General for PhD Talent, a non-profit organization that organizes career fairs and innovation challenges for PhDs in Europe.

From 2012 to 2015, Charlie worked as an R&D Project Manager at Sodern, responsible for projects focused on optics, mechanics, materials, surface treatments, and assembly technologies.

In 2016, they became Head of Research and Development at Sodern, overseeing the establishment of product roadmaps for various business lines and supervising R&D project managers and the project portfolio.

In 2021, Charlie took on the role of Head of Neutron based Raw Material Analysis Equipment at Sodern, managing a business line dedicated to neutron-based raw material analysis equipment for the mining industry.

Charlie is responsible for P&L, sales, development, production, customer support, and coordinating a team of 25+ skilled collaborators.

Additionally, in 2021, Charlie served as a Change Project Manager at Sodern, leading a transformation plan to streamline activities and implement separate business lines with their own P&L and leadership.

Overall, Charlie has demonstrated expertise in research and development, project management, and business leadership across multiple industries.

Charlie Koechlin completed their Bachelor's degree in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology from ESPCI Paris - PSL from 2005 to 2009. During the same period, they also pursued a Master's degree in Physics from Pierre and Marie Curie University. Prior to that, from 2000 to 2003, Charlie attended Lycée Jeanne d'Albert and obtained their Baccalauréat. In terms of additional certifications, Charlie obtained a Green Belt Lean six sigma certification in January 2019.
