Spyros Karavanis

Spyros Karavanis has a strong background in software development and research. Spyros started their career in 2009 as a Research Associate at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. In 2011, they worked as a Web Architect at Simple Data Systems.

Since 2012, Spyros has been with SoftOne Technologies S.A. Spyros initially served as a Software Developer and Analyst in the Research and Development (R&D) department until 2017. During their time at SoftOne, they also held the role of R&D Tech Leader and Scrum Master, contributing to the implementation of agile methodologies. From 2021 to 2023, they served as the R&D e-Commerce Manager, leading the development of e-commerce projects. Currently, they are the Head of R&D of Digital Commerce & CX BU, overseeing the Shopranos and Regate projects.

Spyros Karavanis has a diverse range of experience in software development, research, and leadership roles.

Spyros Karavanis completed their Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the University of Piraeus, where they studied from 2004 to 2009. Spyros then pursued a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Computing (Software Engineering) from Imperial College London from 2009 to 2010.

In addition to their formal education, Spyros Karavanis has obtained various certifications. In April 2018, they obtained certifications in "Introduction to Software Security" and "Web Application Vulnerabilities" from CENCUS. In December 2017, they earned an "ITIL® Foundation Certificate in IT Service Management" from PEOPLECERT. Spyros also obtained certifications in "Effective Coaching Skills" from ICAP Group and "Scrum Fundamentals" from SCRUMstudy in October 2017. Furthermore, in November 2013, they received a certification in "Developing Microsoft SQL Server 2012 Databases (10776A)" from ITEC.
