Rob van der Veer

Rob van der Veer has a diverse work experience spanning several companies and roles. Rob began their career in 1991 at Sentient Machine Research, where they started as an AI software engineer and eventually became the CTO. Rob joined ClanBase as a spare-time project co-founder and chairman in 1998, overseeing the development of the world's first big online gaming website. In 2002, Rob became the CEO of Sentient.nl until 2010. Rob then served as the Managing Director of Serials Solutions Medialab from 2010 to 2012. Currently, Rob is at Software Improvement Group (SIG) as a Senior Director, responsible for global thought leadership, advisory, and innovation. Rob has established SIG practices for security, privacy, and AI, helping organizations understand and mitigate risks related to software. Throughout their career, Rob has demonstrated their expertise in various roles and industries.

Rob van der Veer attended the University of Twente from 1987 to 1992, where they obtained a degree in Information Science.

In addition to their formal education, Rob van der Veer later obtained certifications such as the CSSLP-Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional from Stichting (ISC)² Chapter Nederland - (ISC)² Dutch Chapter - ISC2NL in February 2019. Rob also obtained the Certified Professional Ethical Hacker certification from Mile2, although the specific date of attainment is not provided.
