John Lomax

John Lomax is a seasoned security professional with extensive experience in emergency planning and asset protection. Currently serving as the Head of Security Emergency Planning & Response at the Sydney Opera House since June 2020, John previously held the position of General Manager Asset Protection at The Star from September 2014 to October 2019, where innovative security solutions, including a fully digitised CCTV system and facial recognition technology, led to significant productivity and staff engagement improvements. Additionally, John contributed to The Star Entertainment Group as Asset Protection Manager from September 2010 to September 2014, successfully implementing a security welcome team that enhanced customer service while reducing labor costs. Educational qualifications include a Tertiary Foundation Course from The University of Auckland and certifications in Security and Risk Management from JPR Training & People Solutions and the Australian Security Academy.
