Sergio del Río y Lagares

Sergio Del Río y Lagares has extensive experience in the hotel industry, starting as a Receptionist at Hotel Alcazar in 1996. Sergio then worked as an Executive Sales for Transhotel from April 2000 to November 2003, where they were responsible for client acquisition and maintenance. After that, they served as the Head of Contracting and Product for the Southern area at Transhotel from November 2003 to March 2006, overseeing hotel contracting and leading the product team. Sergio later became the Director of Contracting at Vertice Hoteles from June 2006 to April 2008, managing the company's contractual relationships with reservation centers, wholesalers, and tour operators. From March 2008 to October 2015, Del Río y Lagares worked as the Head of Contracting at Serhs Tourism, where they managed a contracting team and handled hotel contracting in Andalucia, Extremadura, and Madrid. Sergio then worked as a Senior Contracting Manager at Sidetours Incoming Services from December 2016 to August 2019, with responsibilities including hotel contracting nationwide and negotiation of rates. Currently, they hold the position of Sales Director at Soho Boutique Hotels, starting in September 2019.

Sergio Del Río y Lagares completed their education at two different institutions. From 1990 to 1995, they attended the Escuela de Turismo de Sevilla CENP, where they obtained a degree in Técnico en Empresas y Actividades Turísticas with a specific focus on the field of tourism. Additionally, in 1995, they pursued a Master's degree in Marketing Turístico from CEA Confederación de Empresarios de Andalucía.
