Betsy Shirley currently serves as Editor in Chief at Sojourners, leading a 13-person editorial team in producing award-winning coverage of religion, politics, and social justice across various platforms. Prior to this role, Betsy held multiple editorial positions at sojo.net, contributing to features and essays for major religion news outlets. Betsy also worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at Yale Divinity School, providing research support for a book on evangelical worship, and served as an Editor for Yale Divinity School's website and e-newsletter. Betsy's editorial career began as an Editorial Assistant at Sojourners Magazine, where significant content was created and managed. Betsy holds a Master of Divinity from Yale University and a Bachelor of Arts in English Writing from Butler University.
