Chris Newport

Chris Newport has a strong background in hardware development and engineering. Chris started their career as a Network Engineer and Systems Engineer Co-op at Stratos Global, where they gained experience in configuring Cisco network equipment, drafting network diagrams, and testing satellite terminal performance. Chris then worked as a Telecontrol Engineer Co-op at Nalcor Energy, where they digitized power line drawings and evaluated bids for communications equipment. Chris went on to work at Alcatel-Lucet as a Hardware Support Engineer Co-op and later as a Hardware Engineer. In these roles, they conducted design verification testing, analyzed high-speed serial link parameters, and troubleshooted design flaws. Chris most recently worked as a Hardware Developer at Solace Power Inc. Overall, they have a diverse range of experience in hardware development and engineering.

From 2007 to 2012, Chris Newport attended Memorial University of Newfoundland, where they pursued a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) degree in Electrical Engineering.
