Petri Tervasmäki

Petri Tervasmäki has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Petri is currently employed at Solar Foods as the Head of Bioprocess Development since November 2019. Prior to this, Petri worked at Tornion Panimo from June 2016 to December 2019, where they started as a Brewing Expert and played a key role in setting up the brewing process and training employees. Petri later focused on recipe development, production process improvement, and quality control.

Before Tornion Panimo, Petri worked at the University of Oulu from September 2012 to November 2019, first as a Doctoral Student, where they completed their thesis on reaction and mass transfer kinetics in multiphase bioreactors and worked on other research projects. Petri then became a Postdoctoral Researcher, contributing to ongoing research, applying for project funding, and teaching bioprocess engineering.

Petri's work experience also includes roles at Outotec as a Research Engineer/Master's Thesis Student from June 2011 to March 2012, Norilsk Nickel as a Process Operator in May 2010, and Boliden as a Process Maintenance worker in May 2009.

Petri Tervasmäki began their education at the University of Oulu in 2007, where they pursued a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Bioprocess Engineering. Petri completed this program in 2012. In the same year, Petri attended Technische Universität Berlin, focusing on Brewing Sciences, but it is unclear if they obtained a degree from this institution. From 2013 to 2018, Petri returned to the University of Oulu to pursue a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Bioprocess Engineering, which they successfully completed.
