Niels Lion

Niels Lion currently serves as the Deputy Director of the Neuro-X Institute and the Deputy Director of the Center for Neuroprosthetics at EPFL since October 2019. Niels is also a Sustainable Development Expert at the Solar Impulse Foundation, contributing to the advancement of sustainable solutions. Previous roles include Head of Research Development and Quality Control at Transfusion Interrégionale CRS SA and leading the "Labile products and new material" workgroup at Transfusion CRS Suisse. Niels held academic positions as a Privat Docent at UNIL and as a Lecturer in bioanalytics at EPFL. Niels's career includes significant research contributions in proteomics, biosensor development, and blood product quality, with a robust educational background culminating in a Ph.D. in Chemistry from EPFL.
