George Exiomo

General Counsel at Solar Philippines

George Exiomo is a highly respected lawyer who has over 22 years of experience in corporate law with a vast experience representing key players in the Philippine public infrastructure and power industry. He served as the General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer of the Philippine affiliate of The AES Corporation and was a Senior Corporate Counsel and deputized solicitor for the National Power Corporation and special assistant to the president. Mr. Exiomo also worked at some of the Philippines’ most prestigious law firms. He was a litigation associate for election powerhouse Brillantes Navarro Jumamil Arcilla Escolin & Martinez after law school and was a Senior Associate for SyCip Salazar Hernandez & Gatmaitan from 2004 to 2007. He was at one point a Senior Partner for Divina Law. His international experience consists of his stint as a Senior Associate for Chicago-based law firm Baker McKenzie at their offices in Singapore and Manila from 2007 to 2009, working on infrastructure projects in Southeast Asia, Australia, the Indian subcontinent, and the Middle East.

Mr. Exiomo studied Political Science at Saint Louis University graduating at the top of his class, and law at San Beda, also finishing near the top of his class. He has a Master of Laws degree (with merit in International Comparative Law) in international environmental law, transnational litigation, and arbitration from Columbia Law School in New York where he was a Fulbright scholar. He was admitted to the Philippine bar in 1999 and the New York State bar in 2009.
