Glen Brand

Glen Brand has a diverse work experience spanning several organizations. Glen began their career as a Research Assistant at Stanford University, conducting research for Dr. Herbert Abrams. Glen then moved on to work as an Assistant to the Director at Greenpeace and later as a Consultant/Instructor at the San Francisco Public Library. In 1998, they joined the Cincinnati AFL-CIO Labor Council as a Communications Coordinator.

In 1998, Glen also started working at the Sierra Club, where they held several roles over the years. Glen began as a Conservation Organizer in the Midwest Region before becoming an Associate Regional Representative and then a Regional Representative in the same region. Glen later became a Senior Regional Representative in the Northeast Region. During their time at the Sierra Club, Glen co-founded and managed the Cool Cities Campaign, which focused on clean energy solutions to climate change.

In 2010, Glen joined the Laborers International Union of North America (LIUNA) as the New England Coordinator for the Home Performance Campaign. Glen then moved on to work as the State Political Director at Maine Conservation Voters in 2011. From 2012 to 2018, they served as the Director of Sierra Club Maine. Currently, Glen is working as the Director of Policy and Advocacy at Solar United Neighbors.

Glen Brand has a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in English Language and Literature from the University of Florida, where they studied from 1978 to 1981. Glen later pursued a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in English Language and Literature from the University of Houston, from 1981 to 1985.
