Umer Vaqar

Umer Vaqar is a Climate Consultant at Climate Finance Pakistan, focusing on facilitating financial transactions for climate justice in Pakistan since September 2023. Currently serving as the National Manager for Operations & Strategy at Bondh E Shams since October 2021, Umer enables the provision of safe water through renewable energy and IoT technologies. Umer has held several significant roles within the Government of Pakistan, including Deputy Secretary at the Prime Minister's Office, and various leadership positions within the Government of Gilgit-Baltistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, demonstrating strong expertise in public administration and governance. Umer began a master's degree in Business, Energy Systems, and Climate Policy at Yale School of the Environment in August 2024, having previously earned a Bachelor's degree in Accounting and Finance from Lahore University of Management Sciences in June 2016.
