Don Hoogendoorn

CTO & Co-Founder at SolarDuck

Don Hoogendoorn has a wealth of experience in the engineering field. Don began their career in 2003 with an internship at STORK Aerospace, STORK Fokker AESP B.V. where they developed an optimized production layout of the etching department. In 2004, they completed an internship at Nedtech Engineering B.V. where they researched the weight of the composite side door of the NH90 Helicopter. After completing their Bachelor Engineering thesis at the Aerodynamics chair of the Faculty of Aerospace Engineering, TU Delft in 2006, they joined Damen Shipyards Group as a Structural Engineer. Don then moved on to become a Project Engineer Research (Structures), followed by a Project Manager Research (Structures). In 2019, they became the CTO & Co-Founder of SolarDuck, a company that powers the world with clean solar energy. In addition to their engineering roles, Don Hoogendoorn has also been a Visiting Lecturer for the Bachelor education Maritime Technology at STC-Group and a Board Member and Treasurer of KIVI - Maritime Technology.

Don Hoogendoorn attained their Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) in Aeronautical Engineering from Hogeschool INHOLLAND Haarlem / INHOLLAND University from 2002 to 2006. Prior to that, they completed their Senior General Secondary Education (HAVO) from 1997 to 2002 at CSG Willem de Zwijger.
