XUDONG HU

Research Engineer/Scientist at Solidia Technologies

Xudong Hu has a total of three years of work experience. From 2008 to 2011, they worked as a Chemical Engineer at BlackLight Power, Inc. During this time, they performed extensive thermal analysis and thermodynamics calculation for complex chemical reactions, designed and evaluated high vacuum reactors for hydrogen plasma reactions, and conducted extensive literature studies for thermodynamic data. From 2011 to 2012, they worked as a Process Development Engineer at Hankin Environmental Systems, where they designed chemical waste and sludge combustion and air pollution control process, developed process heat and mass balance calculation program, and prepared PFD based on process calculation and client requirements. Lastly, from 2012 to present, they have been a Research Engineer/Scientist at Solidia Technologies, Inc., where they have developed Solidia cement, mix design and carbonation curing process, led the cement reaction group, and developed maths models combined with simultaneous mass transfer, heat transfer, drying process and chemical reaction.

Xudong Hu obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Chemical Engineering from the University of Wyoming in 2004. Prior to that, they obtained their Master of Science (MS) in Chemical Engineering from the National University of Singapore in 1997. In 2000, they obtained a Teacher in Higher Education certification from the Staff and Educational Development Association of the United Kingdom.
