Laura Spencer, Ph.D., P.E., is a highly experienced professional in geotechnical engineering and geosynthetics. Currently serving as the Director of Research and Training at Solmax since June 2018, Laura leads research initiatives in partnership with top universities, focusing on the performance and sustainability of geosynthetics in civil and environmental infrastructure, while also delivering technical training to sales teams and consulting engineers. Previous roles include Technical Manager for Engineered Structures, GeoDesign Group Manager at Terracon, and Project Engineer at Geotechnical Testing & Inspections. Laura holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Geotechnical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology and has a background that includes significant research on dynamic properties of materials and practical designs for various geotechnical applications.
