Emerson Costa has been working in the tech industry since 2017. Emerson began their career as a Researcher at Laboratório de Inovação Tecnológica em Saúde (LAIS/HUOL/UFRN) in 2017. In 2021, they joined Maxihost as a Tech Lead - Platform Team and Software Engineer. Currently, they are a Senior Software Engineer at SoLo Funds, where they are working on solutions to improve access to money for many Americans.
Emerson Costa is currently pursuing a Computer Engineering degree from the Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte. Previously, they obtained a Technician in Computing degree from the Instituto Federal do Rio Grande do Norte between 2013 and 2016. Additionally, they are certified in Scrum Fundamentals from SCRUMstudy, which they obtained in September 2019.

SoLo launched in 2018 with the goal of providing an alternative to short-term loans that were non-predatory, simple, and community-driven. Since then, they’ve processed hundreds of thousands of loans and redefined lending for our community members. Today, they’re driven to new heights, but grounded in the same hope and mission: to build a community that enables financial autonomy for all.
