Chris Pemberton

As President of SCB, Chris Pemberton provides firm-wide leadership, strategic vision, and project strategy for the firm’s work. Chris chairs the firm’s Design Research and Development committee, and his experience includes national and international projects including high-density residential, mixed-use, institutional, and office.

Prior to assuming the role of President, Chris helped establish and served as the Managing Director of the firm’s San Francisco office. Under his leadership the office grew to a staff of 90+ with a portfolio of over 100 commissions encompassing residential, mixed-use, office, and higher education projects. Recent work includes the AIA award winning projects in Honolulu; Anaha, a 38-story residential tower in the emerging Ward Village district, and Park Lane Ala Moana, a luxury condominium development; 100 Van Ness, a conversion of an office tower in San Francisco’s Civic Center to a residential apartment building; and 2201 Valley, a 27-story creative office tower in Oakland.

A graduate of Carleton University, Chris is a member of Lambda Alpha International, an honorary society for the advancement of land economics; the American Institute of Architects; Urban Land Institute; San Francisco Bay Area Planning and Urban Research Association (SPUR); and the Arts Club of Chicago. He is also a member of the Economic Club of Chicago.
