Liav Shapiro is currently the Director of Instruction & Learning at Solomon Schechter Day School of Bergen County, NJ. Prior to this role, Liav held various positions with the NYC Department of Education, including Senior Education Research, Evaluation, & Program Planning Specialist, Education Admin: Sr Achievement Manager- Instructional Specialist, IEP Coordinator/Special Education Coach: Middle School, and Special Education Teacher/IEP Coordinator: K-5. Liav also served as the Rosh Edah (Division Head) at Ramah Day Camp in Nyack and Camp Ramah in New England. In addition, Liav worked as a Hebrew School Teacher/Youth Advisor/Shabbat Children Service Leader at Town and Village Synagogue and as a 5th Grade Teacher at NYC Department of Education.

Liav Shapiro has an extensive education history. Liav pursued a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Elementary and Special Education from New York University from 2005 to 2008. Following this, they attended Hunter College from 2008 to 2010, where they obtained a Master of Science (MS) degree in Special Education with a specialization in Behavior Disorders. In 2012 to 2013, Shapiro pursued a Master of Arts (MA) degree in Educational Leadership: School Building Leader from New York University. Liav then attended the Principal's Institute/Wallace Fellowship at Bank Street College of Education from 2014 to 2015, focusing on Principals Institute. Most recently, in 2019, Shapiro obtained a School District Leader Certification from Bank Street College of Education.
