Rafael Mendonça Dias

Rafael Mendonça Dias has a diverse work experience in the maritime industry. Rafael recently joined Vision Marine Training as a DP Technical Instructor in 2021. Prior to this, they worked at Solstad Offshore ASA where they held multiple roles. Rafael served as the Chief Engineer and IMCA M117 Instructor on the PSV Normand Starling, providing services to Shell. Rafael also worked as a 2nd Engineer on various vessels and was involved in the translation and implementation of the Solstad Integrated Management System. Before joining Solstad Offshore ASA, Rafael worked at Transpetro - Petrobras Transporte S.A. as a 2nd Engineer, responsible for managing maintenance routines and bunker operations. Rafael began their career in the maritime industry with the Brazilian Navy, serving as a 2nd Lieutenant and participating in a world trip as part of the Brazilian Navy Ensigns program. Rafael's educational background includes studying at the Centro de Instrução Almirante Graça Aranha (CIAGA) where they excelled in subjects such as automation, English, and boilers and turbines. In 2005, they began their education at the Admiral Graça Aranha Instruction Center (CIAGA) where they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Nautical Sciences as an Engineer Officer in 2007.
