David C. Michaels

David C. Michaels is the current CFO of Soluna Holdings, Inc.

at Soluna. Prior to this, they were the Chief Financial Officer at the American Institute for Economic Research, Inc. from October 2008 to May 2018. In this role, they were responsible for Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, and Information Technology.

During their time at the American Institute for Economic Research, Inc., Michaels made several important changes and improvements. David developed a new strategic plan with metrics focused on more competitive products, established a performance-based monitoring and compensation system, designed and implemented a new liquidity and investment policy, and developed and implemented a strategic technology plan. As a result of these initiatives, operating costs were reduced by 20%.

Michaels has a long history of experience in leadership roles within finance and accounting. David is a Certified Public Accountant and has a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
