Ambika Samarthya

Ambika Samarthya has a diverse work experience spanning various communication and project management roles. Most recently, Ambika served as the Director of Communications at Solutions Journalism Network since 2021. Prior to that, Ambika worked as a Communications Consultant at Global Integrity, where they developed and executed communication strategies to promote anti-corruption efforts. Ambika also held the position of Head of Communications at WITNESS and Praekelt.org, contributing to their respective communication strategies. In 2014, Ambika worked at Havas Luxe as a Group Account Director and later as an Account Director & Digital Strategist. Before that, Ambika gained experience as a Freelance Video Producer, where they produced documentaries and worked as a shooter and editor for Wine and Spirits Magazine. Other notable roles include Senior Digital Project Manager at Havas Worldwide, Communications and Advocacy Specialist at UNICEF, Broadcast TV Trainer and Associate Project Manager at BBC World Service Trust, and Project Manager at learning worlds. Overall, Ambika brings a wealth of experience in communications, project management, and advocacy to their work.

Ambika Samarthya obtained their MFA in Filmmaking from Columbia University, where they studied from 2000 to 2004.
