Denis van Bortel

Denis Van Bortel has an extensive work experience in the field of tax law and management. Denis started their career as a University assistant at the Institute for Tax Law in the Catholic University of Leuven in 2008. Denis then worked as a Tax Lawyer at Eubelius from 2010 to 2012. After that, they joined EY as a Senior Tax Consultant from 2012 to 2014. Following their time at EY, Denis worked at ExxonMobil in the EAME Tax Center from 2014 to 2021. Denis then joined The Lubrizol Corporation as a Senior European Tax Manager from 2021 to 2024. Currently, Denis holds the position of Head of EMEA Tax at Solvay, starting from 2024.

Denis Van Bortel earned a Master's degree in Law from KU Leuven from 2002 to 2007. Later, they pursued a Master's degree in Taxation from KU Leuven from 2007 to 2008.
