Steve Zhao

Steve Zhao is an accomplished R&I Research Scientist at Solvay since January 2016, specializing in the development of electronic-grade organophosphorus chemicals for quantum dot applications, along with the design and optimization of high-pressure manufacturing processes. Prior to this role, Steve worked as a Process Development Chemist at Digital Speciality Chemicals from January 2015 to December 2015, where responsibilities included developing scale-up manufacturing processes and optimizing for safety and throughput. An industrial postdoctoral researcher and R&D Scientist at the University of Toronto and Cytodiagnostics Inc. from November 2012 to December 2014, Steve also completed postdoctoral research in organic chemistry at the University of Ottawa and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Steve holds a PhD in Organometallic and Materials Chemistry from Queen's University and a Master's degree in Organic Chemistry from Nankai University.
