SVP of Plan Administration at Solxsys Administrative Solutions

Heather C. Carman, Senior Vice President of Plan Administration, brings over 30 years benefit industry knowledge to Solxsys Administrative Solutions.

Early in her career, after earning a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a Finance major, she worked for over 15 years combined as an underwriter and Account Executive for both CoreSource and NGS American.

Heather continued her career working as Plan Manager and Consultant for BeneSys Administrators. While there, because of her dedication and ability to foster relationships with Trustees, union members, and retirees, she was able to expand her client base to include not only consulting and administration of Health and Welfare Funds but administration for multiple VEBA Retiree Trusts. While at Benesys, she was responsible for the day to day governance of the Trusts, relationships with Trustees and Fund professionals, administration of Medicare Part D subsidy program, compliance with government regulations and Trust and member communications.

Prior to joining Solxsys, Heather served as the Director of Customer Relations for the Michigan Conference of Teamsters Welfare Fund where she managed the Field Services Department and was responsible for growing and strengthening relationships with the Local Unions and contributing Employers.

Heather brings her strong analytical background to Solxsys as she has years of experience creating and presenting annual cost and benefit studies. Heather has written numerous articles for union publications and traveled the country explaining benefits to participants and retirees. She is also licensed in Life and Health in multiple states. She serves as a Director-at-Large of AEPC, a labor-based health care purchasing coalition and also spent years on the HAP Labor Advisory Board.
