Johannes Burgard has a long and varied work experience. Johannes started their career in 2003 as an Obergefreiter in the Bundeswehr, followed by a Student Assistant role at the Werkzeugmaschinenlabor, WZL der RWTH Aachen in 2007. In 2010, they were a Thesis Student at Airbus, and in 2011 they took on the role of Project Engineer at CLAAS. In 2015, Johannes completed their MBA at ESADE Business & Law School. In 2016 they were a Business Operations Advisor at More Than Carrots and an MBA Summer Intern at Bragi, where they reported to the CFO and was the project lead for the development and implementation of the first coherent KPI System. In 2017, Johannes became the Founder CEO of Solytic, one of Europe's leading independent energy-IoT-data platforms, and an Entrepreneur In Residence at FoundersLane. Finally, in 2019, they became a Shareholder & Board Member at powerdoo GmbH.

Johannes Burgard completed a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) at Esade from 2015-2017, followed by an MBA Exchange Programme at Imperial College Business School in 2017. Prior to that, they received a Diplomingenieur in Mechanical Engineering from RWTH Aachen University from 2004-2011. Johannes also completed an Exchange and Student Research Thesis in Quality Management at Universidad Tecnica Federico Santa Maria in 2009. Before that, they attended The Hill School for High School.
