Phil Obayda

Phil Obayda is a Principal and Senior Associate Principal at Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM) since April 2013, contributing to significant projects such as the completed Manhattan Loft Gardens and Greenwich Peninsula Upper Riverside, as well as the under-construction Nine Elms Square in London, and a mixed-use development in Zhuhai, China. Active in professional organizations, Phil serves as a member of the RIBA Practice and Policy Board and the RIBA Housing Expert Advisory Group. Additionally, Phil founded and tutors the SOM Design Lab at Loughborough University. Previous experience includes architectural roles at Foster and Partners, Kisho Kurokawa Architect and Associates, and bere:architects, with notable projects like the Zayed National Museum and Maggie's Centre in Swansea. Phil holds advanced degrees in architecture from UCL and Kingston University and an undergraduate degree from The University of Edinburgh.
