Chris Buchanan

Chris Buchanan has worked in the geology field since 1997. Chris began their career as an Exploration Geologist at Cameco Corp. and then worked as a Contract Geologist at Rubicon Minerals and Aurora Energy. In 2004, they started their own business, Buchanan Geoscience Services, where they served as a Consulting Geologist. After that, they worked as a Senior Geologist at Northern Tiger Resources and then as an Exploration Manager at Anthill Resources Ltd. In 2021, they became the Chief Geologist at C2C Gold Corp. and in 2022 they were appointed as Vice President Exploration at Soma Gold Corp., where they supervise regional exploration programs and provides structural geology analysis. Their most recent project is the Minnova Corps. past-producing PL Deposit.

Chris Buchanan completed their M.Sc. in Geology from Memorial University of Newfoundland in 2004. Chris is currently a candidate for a Ph.D. in Structural Geology from Memorial University of Newfoundland. Additionally, they are a Professional Geologist certified by The Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA).
