Edwin Castro

Edwin Castro is an experienced mining professional with a diverse background in operations and planning. Currently serving as Gerente de Operaciones and Mining Planning Director at Soma Gold Corp. since March 2022, Edwin leads operational and planning initiatives. Previously, as an Implementation Specialist at Commit Works and Senior Mining Planning Engineer at Century Mining Perú S.A.C., Edwin focused on budget development and reserve estimation. Prior experiences include roles at Gold Fields Ltd. and various positions related to planning and engineering, where Edwin was involved in mine modeling and operational coordination. Edwin holds a degree in Mining Engineering from Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú and advanced diplomas in Strategic Cost Management and Mining Operations Management from ESAN Graduate School of Business and GERENS Escuela de Postgrado, respectively.
