Iva Vinhas

Iva Vinhas has worked in the pharmaceutical industry since 2001. Iva began their career as a Laboratory Technician at AtralCipan in the Quality Control and Research & Development Departments. In 2017, they moved to Laboratórios Atral, S.A. where they were Quality Control - Microbiology Laboratory Supervisor. In 2019, they joined Labatec Pharma SA as Quality Control Manager and is currently employed at SOMAÍ Pharmaceuticals LTD as Quality Control Director. Throughout their career, Iva has been responsible for various tasks such as the operation and planning of laboratory work, verification and analysis of microbiological results, growth promotion tests, identification tests, microbiological monitoring of aseptic processing areas, endotoxin and sterility tests, methods of microbial counting of non-sterile products, media fill planning and follow up, and participation in facility activities inherent to GMP's. Additionally, they have had responsibilities as the supervisor of the physico-chemical analysis, execution, guidance, training and review of the company's analytical work, development and optimization of processes in organic synthesis and analytical development, experimental design, execution and supervision of laboratory assays, organization and management of the results, elaboration of protocols and reports, and synthesis, enrichment, purification and characterization profile of impurities in APIs.

Iva Vinhas obtained a Master in Pharmaceutical Engineering from the Instituto Superior Técnico/Faculdade de Farmácia da Universidade de Lisboa in 2010, with a field of study in Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Engineering. Iva also obtained a Chemical Engineering degree from the Instituto Superior Técnico in 2000, with a field of study in Biotechnology.
