Carissa Miyano is a Senior Research Associate at SomaLogic, where responsibilities include discovering high affinity binding reagents, performing Next Generation Sequencing, and analyzing data from SELEX experiments. Prior experience as a Research Associate II at LightDeck Diagnostics involved assay development for inflammatory markers and data analysis for a biomarker panel assay funded by the Department of Defense. Carissa has also served as a Professional Research Assistant at the University of Colorado School of Medicine, conducting experiments on explanted human hearts, and has a background in teaching as a Head Graduate Teaching Assistant at Northern Arizona University. Early research experiences include internships at the National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities and the NAU Center for Bioengineering Innovation. Carissa holds a Master’s degree in Biology with a focus on metabolism and a Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Sciences with a minor in Chemistry from Northern Arizona University.
