Charles Herman, MD, MBA has extensive experience in the medical and business fields. Charles began their career in 2010 as an Advisory Board Member at Laser Spine Institute, where they were involved in business development and strategy for the nation's busiest chain of ambulatory spine surgery centers. In 2011, they became the Chairman of the Department of Surgery at Pocono Health System, as well as Chief Medical Advisor at Advanced Healthcare Partners. In 2012, they took on the role of Chief Consulting Editor and Chairman of the ePlasticSurgery Editorial Board at Thieme Publishers. From 2016 to 2017, they were the Founder of Bioventurion, specializing in the research and development of "intelligent" bioactive polymers and hybrid gel coatings for implantable prostheses. In 2018, they became the Chief Executive Officer of Somatix, a leader in wearable-assisted gesture detection for real-time remote patient monitoring. In 2019, they joined Digitalis Ventures as a Venture Partner, involved in operational support of Digitalis’s portfolio companies, sourcing of new deals, evaluation of investment opportunities, due diligence, firm-building, network building, and portfolio management. In 2020, they became a Senior Portfolio Adviser at Forefront Analytics, LLC.

Charles Herman, MD, MBA obtained a Bachelor's Degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 1996 as part of an Accelerated Six-Year BS/MD Program. In 2000, they completed a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) from Albany Medical College, Summa Cum Laude with Distinction in Research. In 2018, they completed a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from The Wharton School with Honors. Charles also holds a certification from the American Board of Plastic Surgery.
