Syed Ali

Syed Ali's work experience begins with their current position as a Software Engineer at Somatus, which they started in March 2022. In this role, they have focused on optimizing compute costs on Azure by utilizing Databricks. Syed has also worked on ensuring data confidentiality, automating deployments, and streamlining workflows.

Prior to their current role, Syed worked as a Machine Learning Engineer at Lumiata from June 2021 to March 2022.

Before that, they were a Software Engineer at Open Learning Exchange from May 2020 to August 2020. In this role, they led the development of a custom CLI feature set for Raspberry Pi and an accompanying Android app. Syed also spearheaded the redesign of the app's UI to make it more modern and compatible with dark mode.

Syed Ali completed their Master of Science (MS) degree in Computer Science from the University of Florida from 2019 to 2021. Prior to that, they pursued their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Computer Engineering at the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) from 2015 to 2019.

In 2014, Syed Ali enrolled in the University of Cambridge for an Advanced Level program. From 2010 to 2013, they attended the same university and completed their Ordinary Level program.

In addition to their formal education, Syed Ali obtained various certifications. Syed received the "Architecting with Google Kubernetes Engine Specialization," "ML Pipelines in Google Cloud," and "MLOps (Machine Learning Operations) Fundamentals" certifications from Google in October 2021. Syed also obtained multiple certifications from Google in September 2021, including "Architecting with Google Kubernetes Engine: Foundations," "Architecting with Google Kubernetes Engine: Production," "Architecting with Google Kubernetes Engine: Workloads," and "Google Cloud Fundamentals: Core Infrastructure." Furthermore, they completed the "Data Analysis Using Pyspark" course from Coursera in August 2021 and the "Jenkins: Automating Your Delivery Pipeline" course from Coursera in August 2021.
