Erin Balas

Erin Balas is an accomplished environmental health professional with extensive experience in public health and environmental consulting. Currently serving as the Environmental Health Coordinator for Somerset County, NJ since December 2020, Erin is responsible for ensuring compliance with the New Jersey County Environmental Health Act and collaborating with local and state professionals on environmental issues. Prior roles include Public Health Inspector focused on safe drinking water, Vice President of Communications at Bwenzi.org, and Project Scientist at JM Sorge Environmental Consultants. Erin holds a Master of Science in Geology and a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, complemented by research and educational experiences in micropaleontology and environmental education.
