Quentin Piel

Quentin Piel has a diverse work experience in various industries. Starting in 2013, they worked as a Stagiaire Ouvrier at Manuli fluiconnecto SRL, where they were responsible for cutting and assembling hydraulic flexible parts, ensuring product quality, and assisting in production planning. In 2014, they served as a Particle Physics Data Scientist at CNEA. Then, in 2015, they worked as a Data Scientist at CEA.

From 2016 to 2019, Quentin pursued their PhD in astrophysics at CNRS - Centre national de la recherche scientifique. During this time, they focused on implementing machine learning algorithms, data mining, and long-term data analysis. Quentin also managed a team of seven members and was responsible for various observational projects.

In 2016, they also had a brief role as an Astrophysics Research & Data Science intern at CNRS. Additionally, they served as the President of Gala des Mines in 2012-2013, leading a team of 25 members for an annual graduation event. Quentin organized the event with a budget of €65,000 and 1,800 attendees.

In their most recent roles, Quentin worked at BNP Paribas as the Head of Data Program from 2020 to 2022, overseeing data projects. Quentin then joined SOMFY Group in 2022 as a Tech Lead Data Scientist, responsible for leading a team of four data scientists and one data analyst. In their current role as Lead Data Scientist, they develop data science solutions related to sales, supply chain, and generative AI.

Quentin PIEL earned a Doctorate degree in Astronomy and Astrophysics from Université Savoie Mont Blanc in the years 2016-2019. Prior to that, they completed a Master 2 degree in Applications and Subatomic Research at Nantes Université in 2015-2016. Quentin also holds a Diplôme d'ingénieur from IMT Atlantique, completed between 2012-2015. In their earlier education, Quentin attended Lycée Albert Schweitzer from 2009-2012 and Lycée André Boulloche from 2006-2009.
