Jay Shendure

Jay Shendure is a prominent geneticist and entrepreneur currently serving as Co-Founder at Somite Therapeutics since April 2024. Shendure has held a position as a Professor in the Department of Genome Sciences and Investigator at the Howard Hughes Medical Institute at the University of Washington since September 2007. In addition, Shendure co-founded Bellwether Bio in March 2016, where an advisory role as SAB Chair is maintained. Shendure earned an MD-PhD in Genetics from Harvard Medical School between 1998 and 2007 and completed an AB degree at Princeton University from 1992 to 1996.
