Irene M. Zanetos

Irene M. Zanetos has extensive experience in marine insurance and legal practice, currently serving as AVP Marine Technical Manager at Sompo International since February 2018, where responsibilities include managing ocean marine claims, supervising team functions, and coordinating litigation strategies. Previous roles include Senior Claims Adjuster at Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty and Legal Counsel at THENAMARIS, focusing on hull and marine liabilities as well as in-house legal matters in the shipping industry. Irene began a legal career as an Associate Attorney at Cichanowicz, Callan, Keane, Vengrow & Textor, LLP, and Watson, Stevens, Fiorilla & Rutter, LLP, handling litigation from discovery to trial in both state and federal courts. Irene holds a Master of Laws in Maritime Law from Aix-Marseille University, a Juris Doctor from the University of Connecticut School of Law, and a Bachelor of Arts in History from Fairleigh Dickinson University.
