Niels Johan Schack Nørgaard has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Niels Johan is currently working as a Lead Experience Designer at Danica Pension since April 2021. Niels started their professional journey as a Team Leader at Maersk Line in 2006. Overall, they have a strong background in design, communications, content creation, journalism, and team management.

Niels Johan Schack Nørgaard's education history begins with their high school diploma from Aarhus Statsgymnasium, which they obtained from 2003 to 2006. Niels Johan then pursued a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Journalism from the Danish School of Media & Journalism, where they studied from 2008 to 2012. During their time in university, they also took part in a study-abroad semester at the University of Missouri-Columbia, focusing on Journalism & Political Science in 2012.

In 2013, Nørgaard furthered their education by attending Northwestern University, where they obtained a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Interactive Publishing & Digital Marketing in 2014. Alongside their formal education, they acquired several certifications to enhance their skills in UX design and software tools. These include certifications in UX Design: Analyzing User Data and UX Design: Creating Personas from LinkedIn in October 2018, a Membership Certificate from The Interaction Design Foundation in September 2018, and Sketch Essential Training from LinkedIn in September 2018. Nørgaard also received Adobe Illustrator certification from Adobe in March 2015.
