Luis Mota Duarte

Luis Mota Duarte has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Luis currently serves as a Non Executive Director at Bright Pixel, where they have been working since 2023. Prior to this, they held the position of Head of Investment Management and CFO at Sonae Sierra from 2018 onwards. Luis also served as an Investment Committee Member at Vallis Capital Partners starting in 2021. In the academic field, Luis worked as an Adjunct Professor at Nova School of Business and Economics since 2016. Luis also held the position of Associate Fellow (Finance) at Saïd Business School, University of Oxford from 2014 to 2020. In their earlier career, they worked at SONAE as Head of M&A from 2014 to 2018, and as a Non Executive Board Member at Salsa from 2016 to 2018. Additionally, Luis gained experience as a Visiting Lecturer at Imperial College London from 2009 to 2015. Luis started their career as a Director at Bridgepoint Capital from 2006 to 2014 and as an Associate Director - Corporate Business Development at GE from 2005 to 2006.

Luis Mota Duarte obtained an MBA degree from INSEAD in 2004. Prior to that, they completed a Licenciatura degree at Universidade Católica Portuguesa. Luis also holds various additional certifications, including the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation, obtained in 2004, and several certifications in environmental, social, and governance (ESG) analysis and investing, which were obtained in 2023.
