Austin New

Austin New has a wealth of work experience, beginning with an internship at Thinkgate LLC in 2011. There, they created a procedure to extract unstructured school standards from state and regional school board websites, reducing the data input process 20x through human-aided extraction and 1,000x through automated extraction. Austin also developed a highly configurable, fault tolerant parser/extractor for PDF and RTF documents and a markup language for speedy human-aided data extraction and inspection.

In 2012, Austin interned at The Home Depot, where they solved a problem with Apache Hive remote server authentication and authorization, and experimented with techniques for customer segmentation.

In 2013, Austin was the Lead Software Engineer at Thoughtblox LLC, where they developed the backend and some of the frontend for a social reading and writing platform, and implemented a REST API. Austin also helped to manage a team of developers implementing and deploying features to this platform and maintaining the platform.

Also in 2013, Austin founded Routine. In 2014, they co-founded Love is the Tool, and worked as an independent contractor, helping early startups and budding businesses forge a path to success.

In 2016, Austin co-founded Wolo, Inc., a startup focused on bringing people together to exercise. Austin developed a mobile website to test business assumptions and elicited interviews and created interview procedures for users and the targeted user demographic.

In 2018, Austin was a Software Engineer at NeuroLex Labs, where they architected Kafka messaging backend and implemented microservices for sending notifications and emails as well as billing customers.

In 2017, Austin co-founded Focusini, helping people focus now through simple techniques, and increasing their capacity to focus over time.

Finally, in 2020, Austin is a Software Engineer at Sonde Health, Inc., where they are the primary engineer of SurveyLex, a survey platform designed for voice applications. Austin researches the voice, asks for sounds from fans, builds trust with voiced responses, and much more.

Austin New attended The University of Georgia from 2009 to 2012, where they earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science. Austin also attended University of North Georgia in 2010, though it is unknown if they earned any degree or studied any particular field.
