Michael Barger

Michael Barger has over 15 years of work experience in engineering and operations. From 2021 to present, they have been the Director of Engineering at Sonetics. From 2018 to 2021, they were the Director of Electrical and Systems Engineering at Sigma Design, Product Design and Engineering, where they estimated NRE labor and materials costs for T&M and fixed-bid engineering projects. Michael was also the Director of Electrical Engineering at Sigma Design from 2018 to 2021, where they met with current and potential clients and collaborated with Business Development to clarify and distill requirements. From 2018 to 2021, they were the Principal Vision & Hardware Engineer at Nextas, where they were responsible for hardware and software engineering for real-time camera-based computer/machine vision applications. From 2016 to 2018, they were the Director of Hardware Engineering at Digital Domain, where they were responsible for project, product, and functional management for a multidisciplinary team of engineers. From 2013 to 2016, they were the Lead Hardware & Signal Processing Engineer at Immersive Media, where they were responsible for end-to-end engineering of custom, 360/panoramic/VR video cameras. From 2012 to 2013, they were the Systems Software Engineer at Thetus Corporation, where they maintained and refactored a Java "semantic modeling engine". From 2006 to 2012, they were the Operations Supervisor at UPS.

Michael Barger earned their Master of Science in Computer Science from Portland State University between 2011 and 2018.
