Ryan Newton, Ph.D. has a diverse work experience. In 2021, they were the Director of First Year Experience at the University of Central Florida, where they lead a diverse team of staff to execute annual onboarding of 20,000 customers using virtual, hybrid, and in-person delivery mediums. Ryan also designed and implemented five large-scale learning and development programs annually and developed and facilitated train-the-trainer learning experiences through eight competency-based curricula annually. In 2022, they worked as a Songwriter/Artist for both Songlorious and Songfinch. From 2010-2022, they were employed at the University of South Florida, where they held various roles including Associate Director of Orientation, Adjunct Instructor, Assistant Director of Orientation, Student Programs Coordinator for the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life, and Graduate Assistant for Leadership for the Center for Leadership and Civic Engagement. In 2009, they were an Admissions Representative at Kansas State University, where they worked as a recruitment manager to implement student recruitment programs spanning 8 states and the most highly populated county in the state of Kansas. In 2008, they were a Leadership Consultant for Beta Theta Pi Fraternity, where they worked as a leadership development consultant for a collegiate organization towards implementation of a dynamic strategic change initiative affecting 120 chapters and 125,000 members across North America. Finally, in 2005, they were an Intern at Kansas State University Sports Information.

Ryan Newton, Ph.D. obtained their Bachelor of Arts degree in Advertising and Leadership Studies from Kansas State University in 2008. Ryan then went on to receive their Master of Education in College Student Affairs from the University of South Florida in 2012. Finally, they obtained their Doctor of Philosophy in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of South Florida in 2022.
