David Hammerschmidt

David Hammerschmidt is an experienced Engineering Manager and Data Scientist at Songtradr since October 2022, following a tenure as a Research Associate and Lecturer at the University of Hamburg from April 2017 to October 2022. During this period, David managed research projects encompassing all aspects from conception to reporting, applied advanced statistical modeling and machine learning, and developed a significant web application for behavioral data collection. With nine peer-reviewed publications and presentations at sixteen international conferences, David's expertise has been recognized with a "Best Paper" award at a leading music research conference. Earlier experience includes an internship at freibank music publishing focusing on audiovisual synchronization and music application development. David holds a PhD, an MA, and a BA in Systematic Musicology and Philosophy from the University of Hamburg.
