T.J. McGuire has a diverse work experience spanning over a period of several years. T.J. began their career in 1995 as a Field Services Engineer at Point to Point Communications, Inc., where they traveled extensively to serve as the pre-sales technical Single Point of Contact for major NLEC accounts in the Western Region.
In 1996, McGuire joined Advanced Fibre Communications as a Technical Support Engineer, providing customer service phone support and coordinating issue resolution at customer locations. T.J. later transitioned to the role of SR Sales ENG, where they developed professional relationships with ILEC, CLEC, NLEC, and RBOC accounts in the Western Region.
From 2004 to 2006, McGuire worked as a Sales Engineer at TelStrat, where they traveled across the United States and established professional relationships as the pre-sales technical Single Point of Contact for Western Region ILEC and NLEC accounts.
McGuire then joined NorthStar Communications as a Business Development Manager from 2006 to 2008. In this role, they served as the Single Point of Contact and Subject Matter Expert for business development needs and created partnerships with OEM/ODM customer base. T.J. also managed a Sales Engineer for the OEM group and collaborated on internal proposal strategies.
Following their tenure at NorthStar Communications, McGuire worked at AFL as a Business Development Manager from 2008 to 2009. T.J. was responsible for ensuring the seamless migration of OEM installation services during acquisition and provided updates to customers. In 2009, McGuire joined Zyxel America as a Sales Manager for the West Region, where they traveled throughout the region and developed professional relationships with ILEC/Tier III and 3 large Cable MSO providers.
From 2010 to 2016, McGuire worked at Calix in different roles. T.J. started as a Systems Engineer, providing customer service phone support and supplying technical details for various bulletins and anomalies. Later, they served as a Sales Engineer, traveling extensively as the pre-sales technical Single Point of Contact for major NLEC accounts in the Western Region.
Most recently, McGuire was employed at Sonic since 2017, initially as a Sales Engineer and later transitioning to the role of Sales Engineer III. The specific responsibilities and end dates for these roles are not provided.

T.J. McGuire completed their primary education at Sunset / Beau Chene High School from 1990 to 1993, where they pursued a field of study in General Studies. Following that, from 1993 to 1995, they attended Remington College-Lafayette Campus and earned an Associate of Applied Sciences degree in Consumer Electronics. In addition to their formal education, they obtained the Calix Certified Specialist certification in July 2015.
