Jean-Marc Jot has a comprehensive work experience spanning several decades in the audio and media industry. Jean-Marc is the Founder and Principal of Virtuel Works LLC since September 2020. Before that, they served as the VP of Research and Chief Scientist at iZotope, Inc. from October 2020 to June 2022.

Jean-Marc Jot held various roles at Magic Leap from May 2017 to September 2020, including VP, Head of Audio & Media. In this capacity, they led a team responsible for audio/video playback and recording services in Magic Leap's spatial computing platform. Jean-Marc managed the invention, integration, and validation of audio and voice processing algorithms, as well as the design and engineering of hardware components. Additionally, they founded and managed the Audio Algorithms team and played a key role in developing and integrating Magic Leap Soundfield Audio (MSA) into the operating system.

Prior to their time at Magic Leap, Jean-Marc Jot worked at DTS, Inc. from 2009 to 2017, holding positions such as Sr VP of R&D. Jean-Marc oversaw audio processing technology R&D and innovation roadmap, focusing on immersive audio for various applications and microphone signal processing. During their tenure, they initiated and coordinated the development of flagship immersive audio processing technologies such as DTS:X, Virtual:X, and Headphone:X. Jean-Marc also founded and managed the DTS Silicon Valley office, which experienced significant growth under their leadership.

Jean-Marc Jot's career began at Creative Labs in 1998, where they held multiple roles, including Audio Research Fellow. Jean-Marc led a team of scientists and engineers and made significant contributions to positional audio rendering, spatial reverberation, and audio signal processing in games, virtual reality, and computer audio platforms.

Jean-Marc started their professional journey at IRCAM in 1992 as an Audio Research Scientist, conducting research in 3D audio, room acoustics, and perception. Jean-Marc played a crucial role in the development of the Spat~ software suite and served as a technical advisor in music creation projects.

Jean-Marc Jot's early experience includes working as an Audio Research Engineer at Studer, where they designed and implemented digital audio dynamics processors and developed a spatial reverberation system.
