Ben Vanderplas

Ben VanderPlas has extensive experience in engineering and product management, currently serving as the Director of Engineering and R&D at Sonoco since July 2011. In this role, Ben is responsible for the global leadership of the Sonoco ThermoSafe product family, focusing on product strategy, development, and life cycle management to drive revenue growth and profitability. Prior to Sonoco, Ben held various engineering and management positions at Tegrant Corporation from April 2005 to June 2011 and gained initial industry experience as a Package Engineer Co-Op at GBSC/Johnson & Johnson in 2004. Ben holds a Master's degree in Engineering Management from Northwestern University and a Bachelor's degree in Packaging from Michigan State University, as well as education at The University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
